Conflagration

The heat is on
The fires high/
Felt it burn inside my chest
The very second I arrived/
But when I left
It's something different/
I see the embers of the raging flame that I extinguished/
A future lost
With every day that passes/
Trying to reignite an inferno
with these sodden ashes/
Now I've realized, it was all a joke
I've watched my entire world
go up in smoke/
It's too late to weld the cracks
That traverse your heart
There's nothing left,
we've lost our spark.
